What is up with office supply cabinets, with a pitch black interior?

It's like looking for something in a dark cavern.  Who comes up with these NOT bright ideas, anyway?   The office down on 2, they have a nice cream colored cabinet: if you need a pen, or a tablet, you can actually see inside.  Anyway, just prior to our move, came up with a plan: yep, i lined the interior back and sides of that big ugly cabinet with blank sheets of copier paper.  Took some time, but you can actually see inside the stupid thing.

Well, silly me.  Was just upstairs, where all the remodeling is going on; someone needed a laptop, and some sort of connection duflinkie.  Turned a corner in that maze, and looming before me, was, evidently, a replacement supply cabinet.  A bigger  but just as ugly model.  Brings to mind that big CAVE in georgia.  Ugh!  Maybe i'll just stop at wally-world and buy a flashlight, and tie a string around the thing...
