So yeah, while fornicating (with an occasional bad-boy-bob, who happens into the joint) is sin...oh, wait a sec, no Holy God, just make it up as you go along. The girls know, solid by now, the only person they can count on, is themselves - certainly not the father of their children. So, any wonder that the population growth is like 1.2 - and even less in some parts.
Laying the blame of negative population growth to va-cas and other vanities, is at best, simplistic bubble-land mantra. Never mind, when a society is taught that Jesus Christ was just some guy who lived 2,000 years ago...uh, what's the point in even considering tomorrow, and saving, long-term, so your kids can inherit your all-paid-for house, and some cds? Hey, might as well, "grab all the gusto," (beer comm slogan) while you're young, and attractive. Might as well - to borrow a phrase from the "Who" - "...hope I die before I get old."
That message, from the late 60s or early 70s (not sure - and striving to keep clear of rock music anyway...still struggle) is chock full of evolution - says quite plainly, an old life, isn't, and would be better off, for the Collective, for aged-out people to get the ef off the planet.
The girls around the bar, they paid attention in school, and they consistently did their homework - in neatly written pages...oopps, dating myself, again ;)

the second wave is starting and in a pandemic it is usually the 2nd wave that kills the majority of people. You baby boomers are all going to die of corona-virus and finally the world will be able to make progress when you boomers are all dead
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, well duh! Of course boomers are going to die. The oldest boomers, still left, may make another 10 to 15 years - maybe more, but probably less. Point is: boomer or not, don't die apart from Jesus Christ, because eternity is forever and ever.

ReplyDeleteWhat's almost funny is: i was ready to slide back into political atheism - when my husband was still alive, whenever election day would roll around, i'd say to him, "okay, Honey, which jerk do i vote for ?"
ReplyDeleteAnyway, sometime over the past few weeks, i read one or two many whiney/vicious comments concerning Donald Trump and republicans in general (whatever that means these days ;/.
Anyway, per the comments that are all over blog-land, said, "okay, fine!"
i filled out the ballot, stuck it in the envelopes, and sent it in. Voted straight party (and yeah, that's sort of a pun). Take a good guess, which of the two leading parties i voted for ;)
Why would anyone vote for Trump if they had any conscience or empathy left. On this blog, you seem to point to being a member of the lower middle class, rich enough to own a home, but on the bus, but you have a stable 9-5 of some sort, so it's not to save on taxes most likely since Trump gave all the tax cuts to his rich buddies. Republicans are evil. They want to take away health care while millions are facing extreme illness and dying of Covid. 220,000 dead, and you Republicans don't even care. I'll call it as I see it. So religious {barf} voting against people's health care, and even being able to survive.

ReplyDeleteAs for the girls, at least some may enjoy life a little bit when young, instead of the constant Christian edicts that call everything evil. Evangelical Christianity has become so anti-sex, I read the other day it's now too difficult for some fundie homeschooled types to "do it" on their wedding nights. Doesn't surprise me. When you have been browbeaten to stay a virgin so long and told how evil sex is. Kind of sickening a religion that makes sex the epitome of everything evil, if it's so nasty and dirty couldn't some God come up with a better way to do things? Humans punished just for being human and biological drives used for torture.
