Per a video about 55+ communities - no, am not fixing to move into one

of those overpriced nosey-havens.  The gentleman was explaining that what you see, and what you get, aren't always the same. For one thing, the maintenance fees can wax brutal.  Another is, some neighbors can be a real pain - if your cat sneezes within 2 inches onto his or lawn ... oh my stars ;/  One very wise move, before signing or packing is :  get copies of the community meeting minutes/finance reports :  how's the $$ managed?   Are the meetings productive, or are they cliquish/shady?

He also pointed out, these communities can be more like a geriatric junior high, where cliquish girls rule.  Oh, that's another issue - which is inline with real estate stats, more women are buying/owning homes, than men.  In some of these 55+ communities, there are about 3 women to one man.  So the gentleman wanted his female listeners to realize, 55+ville is very less likely to play out like some LIfETIME movie - "not a dating ap" were his words.  No, he wasn't making fun of old women; he was just saying...

what my grandmother had noticed, shortly after grampa passed.  They had both been very involved in putting together senior citizens' activities.  Well, weeks, months after grampa was laid to rest, grandma didn't want to go anywhere, do anything; and of course, the family grew concerned.  NO!  Grandma preferred keeping to herself, not desiring to be anywhere near six old ladies, chasing after one, maybe two, old men.  Know this, because she had happened to mention a chase scene - yep, she wanted no parts of that drama.  One thing for sure, it's only per the grace of God, neither do i have no interest in a part of that play.

Oh, especially these days.  Men don't really like us women, and get off making fun of us.  Yeah, like that hasn't been going on, over the last 6,000 years :/ , but anyway... if junior high history wants to repeat itself - in any community - am cool with it.  This time:  the Loner - and quite content with that, thankyouverykindly.
