calendars, pens, pads,,,whatever, couldn't the cost of that stuff - which will likely get pitched - go toward whom they're saying, they want to help? Yeah i get it: there's big money in charities. One very well known one, had a really nice party - lovely food everywhere - while the org, my late husband was involved in, had a tiny meeting room; and they just had coffee...maybe cookies, but i'm not sure about the cookies. But am VERY sure of this: that other org - throwing the party, never got a dime from me in the past, and won't in the futute.
For the very most part, whatever money i give, goes in the church plate. If i had cause to mistrust the individuals stewarding the collection money, i'd find another church - real quick.
Anyway, the mailbox was loaded with em...and they all went, unopened, into the trash - enroute to the burn barrel. You can do that in the country - no need for a room-hogging, messy shredder. Shame ya can't just toss unopened mail - that you never asked for, to begin with; too many reprobates out there, who'd rather steal (working) people's identity, than actually get a real job. Oh, but real jobs have ... ya know, bosses, who expect their employees to be on time, and do the job - correctly.
And i get it. The charities send the unsolicited stuff to guilt-game you into forking over atleast $25 - and tthhhennn, two, maybe three weeks later, you'll get another mailing from the same charity, asking for more. Kiss mine!
What money i am able to give, goes in the church plate. Giving at church is Biblical. Giving to secular charities is but a matter of personal choice. Right now, not happening.
