In the real world, most people don't have a million bucks stashed away.

Lately, have read a few chidey-heidi articles preeeching at us, to shore up, at the very least, several hundred thousand dollars before retiring.  One formula reads 10 X one's annual income.  What fairy land are these writers from?  In the real world, most 60-somethings (and every other adult) might have a year's take-home, if that, stashed away.

Frankly, it seems, (the handlers of) these fake-news writers have another agenda.  That is to create covetousness, anxiety and envy among their readers - for no better reason than some sheets and giggles.  Especially the part where they get into what you (luzer) need to invest in.  Uh, in the world as is, when you're 50-something, with only a few k in the bank, coming up with a few 100k within 10 years is most likely not going to happen.  And by the way, high-yielding stocks are risky; you can lose - hard.
