Well, that's a lovely thought...from a handful of comments, from a post concerning retirement communities.

And no, nobody in their right mind looks forward to getting shoved into a nur$ing home (where the staff don't even earn livable wages).  That said, what was most disturbing - in response to a post that was published but a few hours ago - was two of the six or seven commentors, had used the phrase "check/ing out," if or when their health would deteriorate to the point where routine things would be very difficult, or not possible.

Yeah, welcome to the new age, kiddies!

Some states already, per certain medical conditions, allow you to drink the koolaid - and drift off into eternity - where one of two places will be your eternal home.  Needful to say, the crock smiley-set don't give a rip if you take the M.A.I.D., and fall...fall forever and ever, like a piece of burning slag.  The all-smiles set (hiding their sabre-teeth) don't believe the Word of God (who sent His Son, Jesus Christ...yeah, folks don't wanna heed Reality.)

Anyway, with millions of disembodied infants long thrown into the clinic trash can (and more added to the heap, each hour) ya think, five or ten years from now, the lives of old people with (even non-critical) health issues are going to matter???

What dream world...?  :(

  1. If God gives you the gift of cancer at 60 or heart disease, you need to accept it and not try to live to old-old age, where your life revolves around dumping on low-status women. How many people would be in a care home if they accepted God's intention years earlier. My guess is 10% at most. If you fight against God's will, you will end up in the fiery pit as well. It's selfish to think taxpayers should spend 2 million on futile pancreatic cancer treatment, money that could be used on funding education for low income children, just so you can live a few years longer. That alone is a sin as evil as MAiD, you've put yourself above the common good. "Do not seek your own personal interests alone, but also the interests of others." It is evil and sinful to be a "massah" tended to by "slaves" in a care home.

    1. God's intentions, die young, and suffer. I would be dead by age 20 without modern medical interventions. Look at the evangelicals and Covid now, they want us all to die, by rejecting science and common sense. "God's will" on a tooth, claw and blood planet, means early death, and suffering in bodies with endless limitations and fragility. The Christian god is one of no empathy, because it threatens more pain and suffering after many suffer in hard lives on this earth. I think the Christian death cult is literally bringing us all plague now. If Trump gets back in, be prepared for more attacks on science, medical care will be limited or denied unless you are rich. It's weird watching these Christians natter on about sin, as the USA is set up by their beloved Orange antichrist, to have many more hundreds of thousands die, and for people to suffer even worse poverty. I have no patience for any of them. As for care homes, you think after collapse care homes will even exist? Then I guess you get thrown into the woods to die on your own, maybe a stranger will bring you a drink of water or you may have a loved one take care of you. The conservative boomers have nursing homes, I sometimes think nursing homes won't even exist anymore the way we are going.

  2. Dear Anonymous, just one request: kindly go "BEEP, BEEP..." if you back up, because you don't want to back into a child. You know how kids are - especially, little boys, playing super-sheriff or whatever - kids ram around, not watching where they're going.

  3. P.s., shoulda known, the post, comment, or both, would go over like a loud fart during a Christopher Hitchens remembrance ceremony.

    1. Why do you think Christians care about the old and disabled? Your beloved Trump has cut Medicare and Medicaid to nothing. You think much money is being given to state nursing homes now? Covid is being spread for genocide, to kill off the old, disabled, POC, and others your Republican eugencists consider "disposable" but there you were voting for the plague spreader. I would take my chances with atheists, at least they won't treat me like crap for having a rare illness that affected my body or multitudes of others, they will treat me like a human instead of an "object of pity" that needs to pray night and day for a faithless god to heal or bring it's nonexistent comfort. The young see this and watch this, you conservative boomers have literally destroyed our lives. I spent my life not having medical care before I was disabled. Keep voting for the monsters for your god....it makes you appear so loving and caring. [NOT]

  4. Dear Peeps, cracks in the infrastructure. Doesn't help matters, there are some 50 million less Americans, who would otherwise have been born, gone to school, found sustainable employment (that includes housewives, taking care of the kiddos and keeping the house tidy IS a job, and a very important one. Btw, i was that kid on the bus, watching the other kids being seen off by their moms, and greeted by their moms at school-day's end - my mom had to work, fulltime outside the home. And mom was oftentimes rather grouchy??? Well, duh!)
Anyway, since these 50-some million tax-paying men and women are not here...yeah, it's no-brainer as to why medicare/aid, social security, welfare (some people cannot work) are seriously hurting for funds.

    1. We can't even take care of the people who are here now. I don't like abortion but more birth control and sex ed could have ended abortion years ago, something prolifers didn't seem to get. At least the young know the world is getting too overpopulated and hopefully they won't rut like rabbits like boomers did and take precautions responsibly and make abortions a moot point. Of course if prolifers get their way abortion rates in the backalleys as the idiots try to do away with condoms, the pill and iud will skyrocket. Who can afford kids too? I couldn't I was infertile and too sick but that's something older people don't get, the young have to be careful with birth control because there's no jobs that pay living wages. They can't screw around like boomers did impregnating freely. The people who want to take birth control away and outlaw abortion are insane. 50 more million people? The pollution would be far worse, the world is collapsing from too many people. We keep getting poor air ratings in a rural area, I am running an air cleaner just to breath. And you want more humans on this congested dying planet?

    2. Oh one reason I don't believe in the Christian god anymore, is I think it was pisspoor planning to create a species that could have so many babies it could flood and destroy a planet. I mean it could have created humans that could only give birth every 5 years or something.
