i guess, "Anonymous's" post could be labeled as a troll, but i think the individual has valid thoughts - angry? yes. But, frankly,

can't blame him or her for being mad as heck.  First off, the lack-of sustainable jobs had been a problem, long before covid showed up.  People - boomers, who are still in power - have decided that fast money is more important than hiring people.  For example, in needing a certain service, like procuring alot of other services, it's all done over the internet.  Gone, are the days, when you dialed a phone number, and actually talked to a receptionist, who could either answer your question, or forward you to someone who could.  There's not even a phone number to call.

Oh courssse, there's no actual live human to talk to; that would mean the really rich owner would have to cut a paycheck.  That would mean one less person drawing unemployment.  Heard it said, and read in print, a few times over the years that paying people is a business's most costly expense.

Anonymous mentioned those "We're Spending Our Children's Inheritance" bumper stickers.  Haven't seen any of them pasted to pricey travel-toys lately, but some thirty years ago, saw more than a few, during two cross-country road trips.  At the time, thought, you go, you earned it, you spend it, let the kids gedda frickin j.o.b.

Then, over the following years, something happened.  i grew up.  That process included a Scripture i read in the Old Testament (and there's other Scriptures that say the Lord doesn't change).   The OT Scripture exhorts us to leave an inheritance to our grandchildren.  Oh drats, that means - for us lower middle-class folks - not much jingle for travel-toys ;/

But, especially nowadays, inheritance - even a modest one - is more than just financial assets.  While many boomers grew up in stable homes, where mom and dad remained married until death do part, that's no longer so.  When your folks split up, that splits up the kid - whether he or she is four, or 44.  Divorce is CRUEL, anyway ya slice it.  Divorce messes kids up, and they're angry.  The divorce doesn't even have to cut up their home.  Could be a cousin's or a classmate's, that brings home, the image of a big mean knife, dangling over the sofa by a mere thread.

An inheritance evidences a home that was stable, and for sure, of parents who cared enough about their children to consider their kids' mid-life future - even a modest inheritance, can pay off junior's house, when he's 50-something and his job is replaced by robots.

And, oh please, no lectures about going back to school.  In the real world, once you hit 50-something, getting the job probably won't happen.   Employers - who haven't set up the robots...yet - want younger people.  And there's reasons for this.

Some are valid, but aside all that, welcome to corporate darwinism, kids!  But, hey, whaddaya expect...after all, the typed-written memos went out years ago.  Ya know, the ones, covertly (or not so) warning staff members to not discuss the letting-go of a certain Individual, because He was not a "good fit"...   Like what?  Is He a pair of pants?

Anyway, ya kick Jesus Christ out of your boardroom, you're gonna have corporate darwinism - and crappy wages, and stupid smug "mc-duhnolds is hiring" mantras.  Yeah, lots of mantras, too (ugh!)

  2. Conservative boomers are destroying our lives. you have read my tales of poverty. My family makes 6 figures, my mother owns two homes, I knew I was disinherited before I left.

LOL you say bring Jesus to the board rooms, but how many corporate types support your Republican Gilead politics, where you all bow to billionaires like Trump. You read my old blog, the corporations are financing the Dominionists.

Young people have no homes, even us soon to be old Gen Xers. Lower middle class? That's rich in my book. As I said in the last post, you go on about being blessed but your religion and politics has taught you to have no empathy for others.

That's why you and your political types screech about socialism while taking up the ladder of progress, demanding more pain, more suffering and more poverty. What does Trump mean to a disabled person like me but maybe dying in the streets or dying of Covid, from bad lungs but there you were voting for him.

I wrote that one blog warning about Dominionism etc etc, but I realized I was a voice in the wind among the stupid, who did not care. I woke up and got out. I couldn't be associated anymore with evangelicals and fundamentalists. I was done with a narcissistic god who did not care about me or anyone else.

I am glad I escaped because now I look at you all, and you are openly destroying America. You don't care about anyone but yourselves.

Sue, you are an odd bird,[ if a real personality] I think your brain has some real thoughts in it, about abusive men "the pee wees" and your brain is telling you here, that people are getting poorer, and suffering but sadly instead of wanting to help them, you go and vote for Trump. As for Jesus Christ, if some man came preaching love at all, and was real, Christianity as it now exists became this sickening political empire of control, with it's hell, and other nonsense. The poor are hated in it's system.

Don't you get that Republicans ARE corporate darwinists????!!! When your kind spread Covid and refused to wear masks, they put my life in danger directly and destroyed millions of lives. Covid has no immunity. I expect the USA to collapse, even if Biden does get in, but there will be a bit less suffering with him.

If you care about the poor, you can't be with Republicans and hateful evangelicals. That's it in a nutshell. Your God never helped anyone with money and honestly I knew and tried to help people, I had no resources, who had less than me. Any God just made their lives harder not better.

Christianity really is a religion of privilege, "I AM SO BLESSED" [barf] But what does your religious world bring to the poor but suffering and bootstraps crap and blame? Pick a side because right now your cognitive dissonance is showing.

Your troll was right, conservative boomers are destroying lives and doing so directly now. Young people if Trump gets in will have no hope of medical care, fair wages, just more oppression and the boot stomping their faces forever. I suppose just like your faithless god, with it's cruelty and hell.

  3. I know a number of Millenials who make huge incomes who have no desire to support elders, disabled, etc. They want lower taxes. So we cannot blame boomers.

    1. So what? Sure there is a small sliver of wealthy millennials, they may even vote Republican too. Millenials with huge incomes are a minority at best.

    2. Dear Tabor, i'll bet there's plenty of lower/middle-class millenials who feel the exact same way.

    3. Don't you folks get that the OMG SOCIALISM crowd, want the disabled to die. They are mostly Republican Christians, I was too disabled to get fully sucked into Republicanism. Why they told me direct my duty was to die, if I did not produce. Now whose the real Social Darwinists?

  4. Dear Peeps, christianity is chock full of false converts, and even i know that's nothing new. i remember reading somewhere in one of Paul's letters to the churches, where some OH-I-AM-SO-BLESSED people brought lovely foods to eat, and plenty of it - and did not share with the poor, who brought...maybe some stale bread, if that. Needless to say, Paul was upset. It never ceases to amaze me, how the plentiful Scriptures about treating poor/vulnerable people like human beings, get glossed over - alot.
Peeps, i've heard more than a few sermons, that i wish i could have bottled and saved for july - one or two, especially, would have kept this place cool for half the summer.

    1. Remember when I was fundie and I referred to that unicorn known as the "true Christian". I think you are in that trap too. I realized plenty of non-Christians were a lot nicer of people. Sure some Christians did help me in poverty, one helped a lot but as soon as I would not conform, I was kicked to the curb. Funny how that was never an issue with non-Christian friends who cared about me despite my beliefs. When I watched Christians defend and stand with every evil I was done. Jesus Christ never showed up when anyone asked for him either. I figure if God and Jesus wanted me to "keep the faith", they were given ample opportunity to show up in some real way. Don't you realize now most Christians [the evangelical and conservative set] are the ones with money who don't give a damn if the poor starve or if disabled people like me are in the gutter and homeless. My rent is paid now via Social Security, but Republicans want to destroy that, so when I ask, what do they have to offer you or someone like me maybe you need to think seriously about that. I am left now without many friends because I wasted 14 years of my adult life in fundamentalism among fake people who were never real friends. Also what does God do for the poor, if anything if that being existed, it seems really hellbent [pun intended] on torturing humans as much as possible, maybe practice later for the majority. I never felt supported as a poor or vulnerable person among conservative Christians. if anything I learned to fear them, and while I will talk to a few of you online, I am avoiding them in real life. I've had enough judgment and the all so blessed crowd are toxic beyond belief. Look around at what you are associated with. I did and that's why I walked. Jesus doesn't like it, well he had the power to make things go differently. What did he have for my life and millions of others but plague to offer? Did Paul really care about vulnerable people when telling women to shut up in church? Be careful of letting a few nice verses delude you about a religion that has brought endless delusion and suffering to us all. Oh Christians reject social justice, well outside of a few liberal ones, for me that was enough to walk for good too.
