i don't know how those four kids did their homework - there wasn't a one uncluttered table in that trailer.

Among certain churchian cults, a certain verb in the phrase "be fruitful and multiply" gets (sadly) glossed over in favor of the other verb.  Just read a post at another blog which advocated having large families - was phrased as more like a political statement.  Well guess what!  There's more than a few kids who've been raised in shabby places - where simply setting down a text-book is major hassles.  Btw, schools don't like it when the pages of your math book are sticky, torn, and smelly. More than a few of these kids got the eff oudda that mess a.s.a.p., and have never looked back.  And guess what else: those kids are posting essays over on the agnostic/atheist/pagan side of the web.  Oh my, how'd that happen!  "Fruitful," "bearing fruit."  From what i gather (no pun intended) deals with productivity - in other words, providing (oopps, there goes that dirty word again ;) living and learning space for kiddo #5.  Throughout the Old Testament, and in the New as well, there's much about working, maintaining, saving and staying out of debt.

  1. Homeschooling is a con, abusive religious parents are denying their kids a real future and education. I believe it should be made illegal. No this, doesn't mean I believe the public schools are perfect but at least a kid will have decent books to read and a higher number of them.
