Botch'd Weather Update. The storm will be out of here

in two or three hours.  Just checked the radar map ... what a blessing those things are - we didn't have doppler radar back in the 70s; back then when the weatherman called for heavy rain ... that's it, you had no puter to check on things.  Anyway, per the map, there are a few yellow spots, but the red ones - yikes - are out of here, and someone else's worry, i guess.

Glad i waited to report, because about two hours ago, was going to put out a you-all-come-and-bring-your-bass-boat.  But, apparently, the drought around here had left the ground dry.  Most of Botchie Lake is only in the one corner.  Wow, the whole area, out between the pole barn and the neighbor's driveway had been several inches - maybe even a foot - under water.  So, thank You, Lord Jesus for that dry spell, thank You for allowing the ground to soak up a good amount of excess.

We'll be having some winds, about 20 mph until tomorrow morning - and we all know that super-saturated ground + wind can sure = trouble.

Again, this is Sue reporting for Botch'd Weather.

  1. You're lucky that the hard rain soaked into the ground and didn't just run off.

  2. Dear Kathy, tell me about it! Had some wind here, and was concerned about really really wet ground, and trees. So glad Ida is gone. Hope all is well in your area, and stays that way.
