Words that bother me. Top of the list is "significant other." Whatever happened to "husband" ... that is, a woman referring to the man she is married to, or

wife, a woman to whom a man is married to?  Yep, these days, ya have to elaborate.  When someone refers to their SO, (so many acronyms,  hard to keep up with) you might wonder...but of course, it's not polite to even question in your own mind whether the couple is married, or just playing house, or if SO is the opposite gender.  A related word is "partner."

Nope!  If you're married (or widowed) you just keep yer trap shut, go to work and know that your taxes continue to fund fornicators' various and never ending drama.  Meanwhile, back at the ranch, you wonder what that roof job is going to cost, and how you'll come up with that.

A generation or so ago, a partner was whom one cop rode around with in the squad car.   These two (usually men) cops knew each other well enough that each could rely on the other in the life and death situations they had faced - and would face perhaps this very afternoon.  Partner had also been a general term that one cowboy would say howdy to.   Nowadays, the word "cowboy" may bring to mind a certain disgusting movie that (conveniently) received big awards.  Didn't see it, and don't want to.  The title of that movie consisted of two words, the second word was Mountain.

Another term that bothers me is "fur-family."  It's as if dogs and cats are equal to children and cousins.   No, animals are not equal to humans.  (The Bible...hey, i didn't make the rules, okay!)  Rationalize all ya will, birthday-boy, there's a big difference between spending Memorial Day picnicking with actual human beings or spending the day with no other human being actually being there.  Yeah, we have internet - and even zoom - but it's NOT the same.

No, i didn't comment over there, and don't want to.   There were like 50 people, gushing the same old, same old.  And yeah that woman, at another blog somewhere, scowling the old guy for being alone...not appropriate.  Didn't see her comment, and am not really interested in seeing it.  But, for what it's worth, why do i have a gut feeling, there's more to the drama?  Perhaps the woman is a troll - or perhaps whatever she posted had been twisted.

Happens. Alot these days.  All you have to do is type that you like the President, then sit back and watch the drama unfold.
